"Silica G" is a standard grade, unmodified Silica 60 with a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This analytical soft layer is bound to an aluminum support. It has a thickness of 200um and dimensions of 2.5x7.5cm. There are 200 plates per pack.

"Silica XG" is a standard grade Silica 60 with a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This analytical soft layer is bound to an aluminum support. It has a thickness of 200um and dimensions of 10x20cm. There are 20 plates per pack. The Silica XG TLC Plate has outstanding wettability for precise colorization results, even with 100% aqueous detection reagents, and excellent separation efficiency and reproducibility from lot to lot. Cutting the plates is easy and reliable due to an optimized binder system. There is no flaking of silica gel layer. Binder: highly polymeric product, which is stable in almost all organic solvents and resistant towards aggressive visualization reagents; also completely stable in purely aqueous eluents.

Purity™ Flash Cartridges are superior because they are packed with Premium Rf™ Silica Gel. The porosity is 60A, particle distribution is 40-75um, bed mass is 4g, and quantity is 20/pk. Sorbtech's packing technique & Premium Rf's narrow particle distribution results in a uniform packed bed. The benefits are no channeling, higher resolution, decrease in backpressure, faster flow, and faster run time. Additionally, the small pore volume allows for more silica gel per column volume leading to greater loadability and less solvent use. Finally, the high purity silica gel (minimal surface metals) reduces mixed-mode interactions (no peak tailing or resolution loss). The polypropylene cartridge has standard luer-lock end fittings and is spin-welded (leak-free) allowing higher pressures up to 400 psi. The cartridges are compatible with all flash chromatography systems.

Because of this they are hydrophobic, but wettable (unlike CAT# 164077 & 165077 which are 100% silanized).
